Collateral-backed lending on the blockchain

In 2017, blockchain promised you could borrow without a bank — put up your own collateral, skip the credit check, settle it in a smart contract. The promise was everywhere. A product real people could actually use was not.

Lenmo was our shot at building one: a collateral-backed lending app on smart contracts, in beta with real users. Varun Kumar and I co-founded it. I wore three hats, COO, product manager, and product designer, leading a five-person team from the smart contracts to the screens.

The part no smart contract solves: lending is a human problem. People borrow against what they can't afford to lose, and collecting it is nobody's good day. I walked away with the most honest finance education I could've asked for, and a signed deal with Lenme to close the chapter.
